Northside Gwinnett adds NICU beds

SCN Ribbon Cut 4-18-24

Northside Hospital Gwinnett held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its Special Care Nursery on April 18. The unit added 10 beds for some incredible little ones.

The Special Care Nursery, also known as the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Northside Gwinnett is now equipped to treat up to 38 premature babies.

“We are so pleased to have a much-needed addition to our Gwinnett Women’s Pavilion patient care space,” said Dr. Veritta Henderson, director of women’s services at Northside Gwinnett.

More babies will be able to receive extra special and individualized care that is crucial in helping them to continue to grow.

“With these new beds, we are able to respond to some of the growth taking place in Gwinnett County. Even more of our tiniest patients will be cared for with excellence and expertise thanks to this expansion. It is an honor to welcome them into the world and give them the care they need to thrive,” Henderson said.
